We spent today at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. What a nice day it was. It's not a huge aquarium and it doesn't draw a huge crowd, which is wonderful! It's actually a rehab and release (if they can) facility for marine animals. They had four dolphins there! Awesome! There's a website that you all should visit about their most famous dolphin, Winter. She was caught in a Crab trap when she was 2 months old. She ended up losing her tail above the place where her fin starts. She has been given a prostetic tail!! Another dolphin had been attacked by sharks, his name was Nicholas. What an amazing facility!! Checkout their website for the complete Winter story, www.seewinter.com!! Casey got to touch Winter's nose! I think dolphins have to be the most amazing animal, ever!! (Can you tell I'm a fan!!) We took a boat ride out in the Clearwater Channel. Saw lots of expensive homes and they pulled up some of the sea life in the channel. Casey and Jacob got to hold some hermit crabs and some other spiny thingy.. Alena had a total meltdown on board the boat and made a doo-doo that ran out into her car seat... Mommy, the great little preparer she is, had NO wipes... didn't want to change her while we were moving... she was tired... hence the screaming meltdown.. so i changed her mid-ride and got as much of the mess off of her as possible. She went to sleep! Crisis averted... Now, if I can just figure out what's up with Jacob?? Anywho... that's life w/ the Dudans!
